Never Leave the Remote in Your Car
A remote clipped to your visor is an open invitation. If someone breaks into your car in the driveway, they now have a one-click key to your house. Keep the remote out of sight, or better, use a keychain remote or your phone so there is nothing to steal from the car.
Secure the Emergency Release
The red emergency release cord can be reached from outside by slipping a coat hanger or wire through the top of the door, a known break-in trick. You can block it with a simple zip tie on the release mechanism (which still lets you pull it hard in a real emergency) or a release shield. Cover or Frost the Windows

Older openers use a fixed code that can be captured and replayed to open your door. Modern openers use rolling codes that change every time, which are far harder to defeat. Lock the Door Between the Garage and the House
Treat the interior door from your garage into your home like an exterior door: a solid door with a deadbolt, kept locked. If someone does get into the garage, this is your last line of defense, and it is often left unlocked.

An open garage advertises your tools, bikes, and whether anyone is home. Keep it closed when you are not using it, and motion-activated lighting or a camera near the garage adds another layer of deterrence.
